Your data, your consent

The NOD holds your record as the controller, on your consent, not as a processor working for whichever employer happens to be looking. That distinction is the whole reason your verification can travel.

Control

What you control.

Anonymous until you acceptA company searching sees a role family, seniority, skills, location and a salary band. Not your name, not your employer, not your face. That is the database’s behaviour, not a privacy setting you have to find.
Every approach is named and pricedA person at the company, with the salary range attached, before you answer. You accept or you decline; nothing happens either way until you do.
Your current employer cannot find youBlock any company by name and you disappear from their searches entirely. They are not told, because there is nothing to tell.
No cold contact, in either directionThe NOD never writes to anybody in the network who has not agreed to hear from it. Neither does a company.
Leave and it is goneDelete the account and the record goes with it, inside the window the GDPR gives us. Verification does not survive you, and it is not resold to anybody.
The distinction

Why controller, not processor.

It sounds like paperwork. It is the reason an applicant tracking system cannot build this, and the reason your verification is worth carrying.

The NOD
Controller of your recordWe hold it on your consent, for a purpose you agreed to, and you can withdraw that consent and take the record away.
One profile, many companiesBecause the lawful basis is yours rather than theirs, a verification done once is credible at every company on the network.
You are the party we answer toEvery right in the GDPR is exercised against us directly, not routed through an employer.
An applicant tracking system
Processor for each employerIt holds your data on that employer’s instructions, for that employer’s purpose.
Cannot reuse anythingA verified profile in one customer’s instance cannot lawfully be reused in another’s. It has to be redone every time.
You answer to the employerYour rights are exercised against whichever company happens to hold the copy.
Nobody can buy access to you.

The NOD is not a sourcing database, and your profile is not a listing.
